The thesis represents the results of theoretical and experimental research of the developed method of teaching morphology of the Ukrainian language to high school students at an advanced level.
The paper analyzes linguistic, psychological, pedagogical, and methodological principles of teaching Ukrainian morphology in high school at an advanced level; the content of educational and academic support of teaching Ukrainian morphology in high school at an advanced level; levels of testing high school students` performance in morphology; it was developed methodology of teaching morphology in high school (advanced level) and its effectiveness was experimentally tested.
The paper proves the effective implementation of the experimental method in teaching Ukrainian morphology in high school at an advanced level depended on the psychological and pedagogical principles, including learning, didactic approaches, and peculiar features of teaching Ukrainian. The results of experimental training proved the effectiveness of the development of research and creative activities that contributed to the development of creative abilities, improvement of grammatical, communicative, spelling skills of high school students; introduction of methodically adapted historical information into the educational process, which helped students better understand the importance of morphological phenomena; systematic use of interpersonal relations, which made it possible to consider linguistic phenomena based on comprehension, generalization, and systematization of information obtained in the process of mastering various subjects.
While analyzing tasks performed it was proved that the experimental method has a positive influence on knowledge level, forming grammatical, spelling, stylistic and communicative students` abilities. They obtained information about parts of speech and its transitions, difficult cases spelling in parts of speech, morphological norms, and word usage. It was revealed how to learn better morphological norms of the Ukrainian language, link theory with practical activities and distinguish morphological norms connected with its peculiarities of classification, word change, use and combination of different parts of speech in oral speech and writing; follow the rules of writing case endings of declension parts of speech; explain the reasons and patterns of use of certain word forms.
