Dissertation for candidate of medical sciences degree in specialty 14.01.03 – «Surgery». – Kharkiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education of Health of Ukraine. Kharkiv, 2020. The dissertation is devoted to the treatment of acute ischemia of the lower extremities, caused by arterial thrombosis and embolism. The relevance of the dissertation research is determined by the unsatisfactory results of the currently used treatments, as well as the widespread use of endovascular interventions in the modern practice of vascular surgery. The purpose of the dissertation was to study the effectiveness of endovascular treatment in patients with acute limb ischemia. Results of treatment of 215 patients with acute lower extremity ischemia were analyzed within the framework of the dissertation. To achieve this goal, the results of endovascular and surgical interventions in acute ischemia were analyzed taking into account the etiology, localization and anatomy of lesions, the extent and duration of ischemia. A comparative study of the effectiveness of endovascular and surgical methods of revascularization in acute ischemia of the lower extremities. The results of the study allowed us to formulate measures to optimize the treatment of patients with acute limb ischemia and to develop an algorithm for selecting the most effective method of revascularization for each patient. Key words: acute limb ischemia, thrombosis, embolism, revascularization, endovascular intervention, intra-arterial catheter-directed thrombolysis, percutaneous thrombectomy, thromboembolectomy.
