In the dissertation for the first time in historical and legal science an attempt is made to highlight the organizational foundations and functioning of the Odesa Judicial Chamber in the state mechanism of the Russian Empire from 1868 to 1917, which allows a comprehensive study of reforming the judicial system of the Russian Empire in the second half of XIX century. The paper analyzes the historiography of the problem, the theoretical background of the study. The dissertation is based on the original documents and materials that formed the theoretical background for the study of the place and role of the Odesa Judicial Chamber in the state mechanism of the Russian Empire. The analyzed sources are numerous and multifaceted, representative in all respects, and therefore are the basis for our proposed generalizations and conclusions.
