Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the systematic research of the development of counteraction to illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors on the Ukrainian lands in the period from the XI to the beginning of the XXI century. The principles of legal responsibility for such crimes are considered, such as legality, equality, guilt, justice, individualization, humanism, inevitability of legal responsibility. The evolution of the norms against this dangerous phenomenon is studied in the Statutes of Prince Volodymyr Sviatoslavovych, the Statutes of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Council Code of 1649, the Russian Imperial Legislation and in the normative legal acts of Soviet Ukraine.
