Essay

The object of research – the technological process of plywood production. The purpose – to develop modes for gluing veneer using thermoplastic polymers in plywood production. Research methods: gradient column, spectroscopic, visual determination method, flat pressing, physical, mechanical, chemical, nonlinear programming, statistical analysis. Scientific novelty: A mathematical model has been developed for the duration of heating a veneer package to a predetermined temperature at the required depth, depending on the wood species, the type and consumption (thickness) of the film, as well as the pressing temperature which allowed to calculate the plywood pressing duration with such films using. It was found that the non-toxicity of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) thermoplastic films by using IR - spectroscopic studies. The influence of the thermoplastic film thickness and pressing temperature on the physical and mechanical properties of plywood was clarified which makes it possible to develop veneer gluing modes using thermoplastic film as an adhesive. Practical value: Type of thermoplastic polymer (film) and its consumption for non-toxic plywood production is proposed. Rational modes of gluing veneer packages using the thermoplastic film of low-density polyethylene in plywood production are also proposed. Recommendations for such modes introduction in plywood production using thermoplastic film as an adhesive at the plywood production enterprise LLC “Yazm” have been developed. An experimental batch of plywood production using thermoplastic film as an adhesive confirms the feasibility of using thermoplastic film in plywood production technology. The plywood production method with using thermoplastic film as an adhesive (Patent of Ukraine for utility model № 141281) is proposed, which allows improving the ecological indicators of wood composition and environment. Confirmed by ecological and economic calculation of the plywood production efficiency using thermoplastic film as an adhesive. Branch – woodworking.
