Essay

The thesis shows the expediency of oral use by bulls with the feed of selenium-containing supplements "E-selenium" and "Devivit" is theoretically substantiated and experimentally proved, the norm and efficiency of their use were defined. It is established that the feed of the Podillya zone is characterized by insufficient selenium content. Its level in the vast majority of feeds was 2-5 times lower than the upper recommended limit (0.2 mg/kg of diet). The addition of selenium-containing supplements "E-selenium" and "Devivit" to the diet of bulls increased the average daily gain of animals in the experimental groups compared with the control by 75.7 (P<0.05) and 83.4 g (P<0.001) or 9.6 and 10.6%. At the same time, the highest intensity of live weight growth was observed in animals that received a selenium-containing supplement "Devivit" in the diet. It is established that the use of selenium-containing supplements in feeding young animals improves the digestibility of nutrients and improves the balance of mineral elements (calcium, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, zinc, selenium) and nitrogen metabolism, in particular, reduces its excretion in the urine and increases deposition in the body which has a positive effect on animal productivity.
