Essay

The urgency of the research topic is due to the conflict in this region on the border with Ukraine, which is one of the serious threats to the stability of Eastern Europe and national security of Ukraine, as the unresolved Transnistrian conflict has led to factors and phenomena that threaten state interests. Of Ukraine. It is proved that the main causes of the conflict are political. Our political policy is, first of all, the Russification policy pursued by the Soviet authorities in the Moldavian-Transnistrian region, which manifested itself in ignoring the peculiarities, national interests and needs of the peoples who inhabited this territory, including the interests of Moldovans and Ukrainians. A careful study of the course of hostilities in March-June 1992 showed all their tragedy for the people of Moldova and Transnistria. The main epicenters of the armed confrontation were the city of Dubossary with the surrounding settlements and the city of Bender, where the confrontation became the most bloody. A detailed study of the beginning and subsequent course of the Transnistrian conflict from various sources gives us reason to assert the decisive role that Russia played in it. Considering the motivation of Russia's actions in Transnistria, it should be borne in mind that in the foreign policy aspect Russia not only does not refuse to restore the status of a great power, but increasingly seeks to remain an influential center of the entire geopolitical landscape of Europe, especially Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region. . Since the beginning of the Transnistrian conflict, Ukraine has taken a principled position of unconditional respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova.
