Essay

In the theoretical part of the work the absence of non-destructive methods for determining the frost resistance of asphalt concrete in the world is established. The object of the study is the process of reducing the bearing capacity of asphalt concrete under the action of cyclic freezing-thawing. The subject is a method for determining frost resistance on the example of sandy asphalt concrete with different types of binders and under different anti-icing environments. In the work for the first time: the method of estimation of frost resistance of asphalt concrete on the modulus of elasticity defined in linear area of their deformation, that is not in a destructive way is developed and used; the possibility of determining the coefficient of frost resistance by the ratio of static durability of asphalt concrete by comparing its values before and after cyclic freezing-thawing; the influence of frost resistance of asphalt concrete on the load-bearing capacity of non-rigid pavement is analyzed. Some existing methods have been further developed. The results of the research are the basis of a patent for a utility model. The main component of the work is to study the effect of cyclic freezing thawing on these characteristics and to determine the coefficient of frost resistance of asphalt concrete. "Method of non-destructive determination of frost resistance of asphalt concrete". The dissertation is a component of planned complex research works: topic № 42 / 38-04-15 "Conduct research to determine the impact of structural defects of asphalt concrete on their design characteristics and prepare proposals to improve the reliability of these characteristics"; topic № 52 / 38-56-19 "To study the impact of bitumen modification on the physical and mechanical properties of road asphalt concrete and prepare proposals for the adjustment of relevant indicators in the reference books of design characteristics"
