Naumenko L. History of names of tableware, kitchenware and furniture in the Ukrainian language.

The work is dedicated to the history of the names of tableware, kitchenware and furniture as an important component of lexicon of the Ukrainian language. The analysis of lexico-semantic groups of the stated vocabulary in the diachrony and synchrony gives us an opportunity to recreate the spiritual world and material acquisitions of our ancestors. Since the vocabulary for designation of tableware and furniture mainly belongs to the specific vocabulary, this gives an opportunity to establish certain long-term patterns of its formation, development and functioning. For this purpose, the names of tableware and furniture and their derivative formations were identified and classified, the changes in semantics of the found tokens at different historical stages of language development were traced. Word-forming features are considered and the types of derived tokens, presented in certain lexical-semantic groups, are determined. A comprehensive analysis of the names of tableware, kitchenware and furniture made it possible to take into account the origin, changes in semantics, the most productive ways of word formation, the field of application in modern Ukrainian language and presentation in the Ukrainian dialects.
