Essay

The results of diagnosis and treatment of 78 patients with benign and malignant pathology of the head of the pancreas and periampullary zone are analyzed. It was established that our proposed method of early oral nutrition in the concept of a multimodal program of enhanced recovery in patients after pancreatoduodenectomy is the optimal way to meet the nutritional needs of the body and can significantly reduce the incidence of general postoperative complications from 46,1 to 25,6 % (p=0,029), the incidence of delayed gastric emptying – from 35,9 to 15,4 % (p=0,0098), the incidence of infectious complications from 17,9 to 5,1 % (p=0,031) and the length of hospital stay from 18 to 14 days (p=0,012). According to our data, early oral nutrition with a gradual increase in volume does not lead to the development of hypoproteinemia and hypoalbuminemia, despite the different diets and energy value, which confirms the feasibility of its use in this mode.
