Essay

The thesis is devoted to the spatial signal processing application by the sphericity of the electromagnetic wave phase front in radio engineering systems for solving actual scientific problems: determination of location coordinates and spatial signal selection of radio sources located in one or different regions, including the case of angular coordinates coincidence of the radio sources. Рhase method of a radio source direction finding was developed and Capon’s method of direction finding was improved. This methods allow to determine location coordinates (bearing angle and distance) for one or several radio sources located in the intermediate-field region by the sphericity of the electromagnetic wave phase front. Spatial signal filtering method was improved by using direction-finding method of several radio sources to obtain information about the spatial position of this radio sources. The method allows to separate from each other signals with identical polarization and frequency characteristics from several radio sources by the sphericity of the electromagnetic waves phase fronts, including the case of their bearing angles coincidence. Based on the proposed methods, technical solutions for phase direction-finders and spatial signal selection systems are presented. An experimental study in laboratory conditions was conducted. It confirmed the possibility of spatial signal selection by the sphericity of the electromagnetic wave phase front of the selected radio source from other radio sources signals in the intermediate-field region.
