Oblakova O. Civil liability in the field of international sports relations.

The thesis is devoted to the issues of civil liability of international sports relation participants. On the basis of the system analysis, conceptual issues of the content of civil liability, sources of legal regulation, features, conditions, efficiency and expediency of its application in certain areas of sports relations have been studied. The content of tort liability for damage to life and health of one participant in a sporting event to another has been determined; terms of liability and peculiarities of calculation of compensation have been determined. The criteria of an infringing athlete’s behavior have been formulated. The peculiarities of contractual civil liability in the sphere of professional soccer are established, the historical preconditions of its development have been revealed. The methodology and calculation formula for the unilateral termination of football contract have been formulated. The character of civil liability for the violation of commercial rights emanating from sports events has been specified. The peculiarities of damages compensation in this field have been shown. The civil liability’s role and place in the mechanism of legal governance of the modern sport, its tendencies and specificities have been determined. Proposals for improving the current legislation and local corporate acts of sports organizations on civil and legal liability of participants in international sport relations have been developed.
