Processes of labor losses in the economy of Ukraine. Development of scientific and methodological bases for the formation of organizational and economic mechanism to reduce labor losses and substantiation of practical recommendations for its improvement in modern conditions. Historical method, analysis and synthesis, comparative analysis, systematization, statistical analysis (including: absolute, relative and average values, comparisons), correlation and regression analysis, functional-systemic, abstract-logical, graphical and tabular methods. Revealed the theoretical construct of the definition of “labor losses”. Defined goals and substantiated the structural components of the organizational and economic mechanism to reduce labor losses; revealed dynamic estimates of losses and identified reserves for their reduction; developed and tested a methodological approach to estimating labor losses at the macroeconomic level; identified the main ways of development of subject-object interaction of institutional units to reduce labor losses; provided practical proposals for improving the regulatory framework on the basis of the concept of decent work; identified the system of measures to reduce labor losses at the present stage in Ukraine. For the first time developed scientific and theoretical principles of organizational and economic mechanism for reducing labor losses as an interconnected organizational system, which identifies four strategic areas of its implementation: prevention, reducing, elimination, compensation; improved the typology of labor losses and systematization of their determinants, as well as tools for estimating economic losses from labor losses; have been further developed categorical-conceptual apparatus, the procedure of modeling the impact of labor market indicators on the sociodemographic situation, analytical and economic assessment of trends in labor losses, areas for improving the institutional support of the national economy. Implemented. Socio-economic policy, state target programs and programs of socio-economic development, regulation of institutional changes in the national economy, the educational process in higher education (scientific institutions).
