Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of the organizing speech therapy for adults with extrapyramidal pathology and the determination of effective methods and techniques for the restoration and normalization of speech activity in these patients. The criteria and indicators of the preservation of the communicative-speech activity of patients with extrapyramidal pathology were determined. Indicators of the preservation of communicative-speech activity are determined: the levels of cognitive-communicative, motor-innervative, melodic-intonation, communicative-semantic components, which assume the preservation of phonological, prosodic, morphological, syntactic components of speech activity, as the basis for successful complex rehabilitation and socialization of these patients. A method for diagnosing speech activity in patients with extrapyramidal disorders has been developed, the levels of preservation of communicative-speech activity, as well as the nature of component disorders in these patients have been experimentally identified. In the course of the ascertaining study, it was found that patients with different disorders of the extrapyramidal system (Parkinson's disease, manganese encephalopathy, Wilson’s disease, supranuclear palsy) and with different symptoms and clinical manifestations have different levels of preservation of speech activity. The levels of preservation of each component of speech activity were determined according to the presented indicators. Experimental data indicate that the overwhelming majority of patients with extrapyramidal disorders have low and medium levels of preservation of communicative-speech activity. A technique of speech therapy for adults with extrapyramidal pathology has been developed, that covers three stages: complex diagnostic, correctional-rehabilitative, and active-communicative ones. The pedagogical conditions were determined: complex-organizational, logodidactic and diagnostic-technological, ensuring the effectiveness of the process of recovery and normalization of speech activity in adults with extrapyramidal disorders. The main tendencies of speech restoration in case of extrapyramidal disorders were determined and characterized.
