Kovalenko M. Constitutional and legal regulation of voter registration in Ukraine.

The detailed description of the theoretical foundations and constitutional and legal regulation of voter registration in Ukraine is given in this thesis. The concept and content of voter registration, its role in the democracy and the exercise of citizens’ electoral rights are defined. The comparative legal analysis of organizational and legal models of voter registration and the research of the institute of voter registration in Ukraine evolution are carried out. The characteristic of the modern legal basis for voter registration in Ukraine is given, the main features of its current state are revealed and suggestions for improvement are formulated. The system and content of personal data of voters, the state, problems and ways to improve their legal regulation are researched. Particular attention is paid to the problems of the legal regime of personal data of voters. The study of the procedure for voter registration in Ukraine necessitated an analysis of the legal status of registration bodies, their system, as well as the consistent disclosure of procedural aspects of voter registration. The role of the electronic voter register in the information system of interaction of state electronic information resources is clarified. The characteristic of the introduced protective mechanism of the Ukrainian citizens voting rights is given.
