Frolova Y. Architectural and planning features of forts of the South of Ukraine of the late XVII - early XIX centuries

The research topic focuses on specifics of architecture of forts of the south of Ukraine, dynamic of fortification construction, architectural period of development, state of conservation and conservation programs. The object of the research is a fort, the subject is solutions in architectural planning and spatial solutions. The time frame is determined by the late ХVІІ - early ХІХ centuries. The research area covers Odessa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. The study solves an issue of summarizing domestic and foreign experience, experience of studying construction of forts in southern Ukraine, formulates the methodology for carrying out architectural research, highlights the phases and factors that influence the architectural and spatial development of forts, determines the location, architectural and planning features, evaluates the state of conservation, provides methodical approaches and preservation programs.
