In this study the results of the conducted theoretical and experimental research on determining, grounding and testing of didactic terms of shaping pedagogical universities students’ digital competence in the process of teaching informatics courses have been presented. Competent basics of teaching information disciplines in pedagogical universities have been studied. The role, place and importance of digital competence as a fundamental and integral part of the future teacher’s professional competence and a separate phenomenon directly related to the information competence of students of pedagogical universities have been clarified. The fact that digital competence is a dynamic characteristic of the individual has been established. It determined by the ability to communicate, associate and collaborate safely, develop digital educational resources and solve professional problems with ICT and tools. The thesis provides insight into the essence of the conducted pedagogical experiment on the assesses of the effectiveness of didactic terms of shaping pedagogical universities students’ digital competence in the process of teaching informatics courses. The conducted quantitative, qualitative and statistical analyses have identified a positive and statistically significant dynamic in the levels of formation of the competence in question in accordance with the defined criteria; in the degree of the system acquisition of this phenomenon; in general levels of the formation of digital competence of students from the experimental group.
