Melnyk T. Nuclear deterrence in the Euro-Atlantic security system

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the transformation of the concept of nuclear deterrence, which plays the role of a security mechanism in the Euro-Atlantic system that preserves its relevance taking into account the present-day challenges of the NPT regime and international security. The peculiarities of approaches and implementation of nuclear deterrence within the Euro-Atlantic security system are analyzed using the systems theory approach that forms the author’s model of research. The dissertation reveals the basics of the nuclear strategy of key elements of the system, namely such nuclear powers as the United States, France, and the United Kingdom; interactions between state actors at the bilateral, multilateral level that
