Shulha N. Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian SSR Academy of Sciences M.O. Tiuleniev

The dissertation is devoted to the complex historical-scientific analysis of the life and creative way of Mykola Oleksandrovych Tiuleniev, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian SSR Academy of Sciences (1889–1969), building his scientific biography and outlining the scientist's contribution to the scientific support of the agricultural drainage reclamation in Soviet Ukraine. The periodization of the scientific and creative way of M.O. Tiuleniev is developed, covering five periods. The coordination work of M.O. Tiuleniev on the introduction of the latest developments in the field of wetland culture through a network of branch research stations and fields is analyzed. According to the results of content analysis, the scientific heritage of the Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian SSR Academy of Sciences M.O. Tiuleniev is divided into nine subject-matter groups. The analysis of the scientific heritage of the scientist on the chronological and thematic principle, and also on types of scientific production is carried out. It is established that the scientist researched and tested almost all types of land reclamation – hydraulic, cultural, chemical, agro-technical, agro-forestry, paying special attention to the latter. We believe that the geographical boundaries of the scientific school are not limited to the territory of Ukraine, because its followers practice the culture of swamps also in Belarus and the Russian Federation.
