Essay

The content of extremism as a social phenomenon and a legal category is characterized. It is established that in the legal, political science and philosophical literature hundreds of definitions of extremism have been developed, which reflect various aspects of this phenomenon. The social essence of extremism from the point of view of philosophy, political science, sociology, history and law is considered. It is established that extremism is a multifaceted social phenomenon, which has a social conditionality and takes various forms of hostility to generally accepted social values.
