Roy J. Productive and adaptive qualities of the Aberdeen-Angus breed cows during year-round outdoor keeping

The dissertation work was devoted to the complex assessments of productive and adaptive qualities of cows of the Aberdeen-Angus breed during year-round outdoor keeping without the use of premises in the conditions of the Eastern region of Ukraine. In the work the following parameters were studied: indicators of live weight and exterior appearance, indicators of reproductive ability and milkiness, ethological indicators, skin histology, hair morphometry, blood indicators, natural resistance, dynamics of physiological indicators, meat productivity, quality of skins, bone strength, density of hoofed horn and economic efficiency of selling cows for meat. According to the results of research the possibility and expediency of the use of year-round outdoor keeping of the Aberdeen-Angus cows without the use of premises in the conditions of the East of Ukraine have been established and scientifically argued and the high efficiency of indicators of productive and adaptive qualities of the breed has been proved.
