Essay

The presence and development of skeletal muscle destruction of m.plantaris in rats under chronic alcoholism was studied. It has been shown that after 2 months of alcoholism, there is a decrease in ATP-hydrolase activity of the actomyosin complex of skeletal muscles, which correlate with the duration of alcohol consumption. These changes may be related to the oxidation of the contractile complex proteins due to the activation of free radical oxidation. Comparison of the parameters of the skeletal muscle contraction of alcoholic rats with electrical stimulation with different relaxation times showed a decrease in strength and length under stimulation by 2-second impulses, and recorded the appearance of chaotic fluctuations in muscle dynamics with transition to physiological rigidity under stimulation by 4-5 second impulses. Dynamic parameters of strength and length decreased when the relaxation time was increased to 1 minute. Dynamic parameters did not differ much from parameters of muscles from the control group, when the relaxation time was increased to 5 minutes.
