Essay

Object of the study: Volunteering practices in contemporary Ukrainian society. Subject of the study: factors and consequences of actualization of volunteering practices under conditions of forced migration in contemporary Ukraine. Objective: the sociological conceptualization of volunteering as a sociocultural practice and its role in the formation of the social subjectivity of the person. Research methods: analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, typology, historical-genetic method, semi-structured in-depth interviews, the critical discourse analysis of the mass media. Theoretical and practical results: the sociological definition of “volunteering as a sociocultural practice” is formulated, identified and described the interrelations of such macrosocial factors of volunteering actualization, three types of discourse of internally displaced persons in mass media were identified, role of volunteering in the formation of the social subjectivity of the person, which can be used for further research in the field of sociology of civil society, sociology of migration, etc. The main statements and conclusions of the research may be used by the representatives of international organizations, governmental bodies and local authorities, by the representatives of volunteer and non-governmental organizations, and also during the development and improvement of legislation on volunteering in Ukraine. Novelty: solving an important science problem – development of conceptual bases of sociological study of volunteering as a sociocultural practice and its role in the formation of the social subjectivity of the person. Degree of implementation: The main statements and conclusions of the research may be used by the representatives of international organizations, governmental bodies and local authorities, by the representatives of volunteer and non-governmental organizations, during the development and improvement of legislation on volunteering in Ukraine and also can be implemented and used during the development and teaching of courses: "Sociology of Civil Society, “Migration sociology”, “Sociology of youth”, “Sociology of morality”, “Social work”, for students of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
