Object - medical acute kidney damage; goal - to establish the effect of melatonin on the course of acute renal damage induced by toxic effects of drugs, and to identify the mechanisms of nephroprotective action of exogenous melatonin; methods - pathophysiological, biochemical, pharmacological, histological, statistical; results - it is established that hypofunction of the pineal gland causes desynchrony of renal function; shown a decrease in the impact of toxic factors on the kidneys when used in the prophylactic and melatonin regimen at a dose of 5 mg / kg; proved that the nephroprotective effect of exogenous melatonin in gentamicin-induced acute renal damage on the background of unchanged secretion of endogenous melatonin is realized in limiting the severity and prevalence of histopathological changes in the kidneys, increasing diuresis and glomerular filtration, reduction of retention, and restoration of glomerular-tubular balance, and due to antioxidant action.
