Essay

Object - thyroid cancer; the purpose - to find out separate links of a pathogenesis of structural and metabolic disturbances of cell membranes at patients with a cancer of a thyroid gland and to substantiate principles of their early diagnosis; methods - pathophysiological, biochemical, spectrophotometric, phosphorescent, immunological, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, statistical; results - established molecular genetic, immunological, biochemical and cellular markers of structural and metabolic disorders of cell membranes in patients with thyroid cancer and their common and different characteristics depending on the functional state of the gland, as well as the tumor belonging to a particular histological type; gender features of the role of NADPH oxidase in the production of reactive oxygen species in thyroid cells by changes in the expression of DUOX1, DUOX2 and NOX4 - the main non-mitochondrial sources of ROS; a direct correlation was established between the results of studies of pathogenetic mechanisms in the culture of thyroid cancer cells (in vitro) and the results obtained in patients with thyroid cancer in vivo; new methods for diagnosing thyroid cancer and assessing the postoperative period have been developed.
