Essay

The object of research is the process of compression of multimedia data of radio and television systems and telecommunications; the purpose of the study - is to increase the efficiency of methods of encoding characters of large alphabets when compressing data in radio and television systems and telecommunications; research methods - methods of probability theory and mathematical statistics, numerical modeling, lossless data compression, data compression; results - methods of data processing of radio engineering systems are developed and the method of entropy recursive group coding (ERGC) of data for processing and compression of multimedia data is improved; novelty - the ERGK method is improved, which differs in the adaptive choice of the threshold of allowable code redundancy, as well as the constant number and size of groups, which allows to increase the average degree of compression of encoded data; for the first time a variant of ERGC coding with dynamic frequency modeling is proposed, which differs by an adaptive method of estimating the frequencies of alphabet symbols on the first iteration of coding, which allows to use ERGC to compress statistically inhomogeneous data; improved a number of compression methods for radio and television systems and telecommunications, which differ in the use of ERGC instead of arithmetic and Huffman coding, which increased the degree of compression of such data, in particular, the degree of compression of timestamps for traffic monitoring, the degree of compression of JPEG images when transmitting them over communication channels; the degree of implementation – at the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of Air Force, National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute", research and production enterprise "Hartron - Arcos"; field of application - data processing systems in radio and television systems and means of telecommunications.
