In the dissertation the author proposes a method of calculating the flow of flood waters through medium pressure hydropower plants based on water inflow forecasts taking into account the characteristics of the flood wave and the reservoir filling regime, which allows cutting the maximum flow through the reservoir by accumulating flood waters in the reservoir.
