The dissertation is devoted to the disclosure of the content of the constitutional and legal principles of modernization of the institute of the Prosecution of Ukraine and substantiation of proposals for improving the constitutional and legal status of the Prosecution of Ukraine. Four stages of modernization of the prosecution (1990-2020) are described with taking into account political, program documents, draft constitutional acts and the dynamics of constitutional changes and reforms introduced in the state. The content of transformations of the constitutional institute of the prosecution of Ukraine is revealed.
