Lintsova N. Consumption in the lifestyle of rural residents.

The dissertation is devoted to the development of a consumption style construct as an indicator of the rural residents’ modern lifestyle transformation and an empirical explication of their main consumption styles. Сontent of the rural way of life concept was operationalized and a meaningful structuring of indicators of a rural way of life carried out, a system of indicators of the actual rural way of life in the coordinates of the content (meaningful characteristics of practices), dynamics (dynamics of daily activity) and meaning (subjective assessments of the way of life) has been built. The agrarian, non-agrarian and intermediate (combined) lifestyles are distinguished, which are directly related to the forms of employment. The rural lifestyle in its cultural and habitual dimensions is considered and the content of the habitual dimension of lifestyles according to the object of research - rural residents - is specified. It is substantiated that the habitual characteristics of the consumption of rural residents are directly related to the nature of work on the land and the attitude of rural residents to the land. Habitus of the rural way of life are identified and described: habitus “on the ground”, habitus “near the ground”, habitus “from the ground” and habitus “to the ground”, and the specificity of thestyles of consumption of rural residents within each habitus is clarified.
