Essay

The dissertation studies and substantiates the problem of treatment of patients with chronic ischemia of the lower extremities with occlusive-stenotic lesions of the tibial arteries (the so-called distal bed). The expediency and necessity of using the method of indirect revascularization by cell transplantation of cord blood cells and stimulation of angiogenesis, which allowed to obtain a long-term positive clinical effect, which manifested itself in reducing the percentage of disability by reducing the number of amputations, increasing distance and painless gait, improving the ability to work, improving the personal well-being of patients in the physical, psychological and socio-economic spheres, and, as a consequence, improving family relationships. It has been established that the use of cord blood cell transplantation in patients who cannot perform "direct" reconstructive interventions expands the possibilities of successful treatment of patients with chronic ischemia of the lower extremities on the background of obliterating atherosclerosis and may be the last resort for patients with amputation.
