Essay

The dissertation research is an independent completed scientific work, which comprehensively studies the human right to wages as a subjective natural human right and, at the same time, as a socio-economic law. The dissertation gives the author’s vision of the right to wages as a universal right, which in its content belongs to both natural and socio-economic rights. The natural nature of the right to wages is manifested in its universality, inherence, inalienability, indisputable interrelation and correlation with such rights as the right to life, respect for dignity and a sufficient standard of living. The affiliation of the right to wages to socio-economic ones, in the system of constitutional human and civil rights, characterizes it as: generalizing, which is simultaneously relevant to the whole system of socio-economic rights and is a criterion of socio-economic nature of the state. It is determined that the key role in regulating the right to wages is played by such constitutional principles as equality, humanism, justice, prohibition of discrimination. It is argued that it is necessary to introduce the concept of a threshold wage level that would provide decent living conditions, where the amount of wages set with a significant understatement should be considered as not providing a decent standard of living.
