Essay

The thesis further developed theoretical provisions and improved methodological support for the formation of strategic potential of construction enterprises. A conceptual apparatus has been formed based on a synthesis of approaches of theories of organizational development, strategic management, competitive advantages, and concepts of strategic change. The substantive characteristics of the strategic potential, types, stages and instruments of formation have been clarified. According to the author’s interpretation of strategic potential, technological, humanand informational components and types are identified regarding the stages of the strategy of change -implicit (hidden) at the initiation stage, desired (prospective) at the motivational stage and evident at the planning, implementation and control stages. It is well established that the composition of the strategic capacity-building toolkit is determined by the objectives at the stages of the development strategy. Methodological support has been developed for the analysis of the development processes of enterprises in the construction industry and the state of their strategic potential, which represents a set of methods, criteria, indicators and stages of structural and logical sequence, respectively: «Development Problems» - «Identification of Forms of Strategic Potential» - «Development Strategy» - «Strategic Capacity Building Tool» - «Use of Strategic Potential in Development Strategies». The analysis and evaluation of factors contributing to the formation of the strategic potential of construction enterprises have been carried out, and relevant strategies for the development of building enterprises have been defined, as well as specific tools and organizational forms of their implementation. The results of the analysis provided a basis for improving methodological support for the formation and evaluation of strategic potential of construction enterprises.
