The dissertation develops and substantiates the structural-functional model of state assistance to the professional adaptation of young professionals to professional activity, which contains the following blocks: legal, methodological, procedural, monitoring. It is argued that the mechanism of state assistance to professional adaptation of young professionals in the system of continuing education includes the following elements: analysis of the state and trends of professional adaptation of young professionals; problem identification; concept formation; choice of public policy model; identification of priority areas and areas of promoting the professional adaptation of young professionals in the system of continuing education; formation of strategy for managing the adaptation process; identification of measures to promote the professional adaptation of young professionals. The list of main risks that arise in the process of state promotion of professional adaptation of young professionals, in particular: the level of wages of young professionals, bureaucracy, dependence on employer decisions, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty for the future of young professionals, lack of experience, uneven workload, lack of attention to the results of the young specialist’s work by the mentor, joining the team, insufficient technical support of jobs, the presence of a corrupt system when hiring, problems of moral and psychological direction, embodying self-doubt and self-motivation; Areas of state support for vocational adaptation of young professionals in Ukraine are identified, in particular: coordination of vocational training programs, monitoring of labor market needs, formation of state vocational guidance program, introduction of dual education and development of adaptation measures (approval of list and content of documents; conducting trainings on the introduction of dual education for employers and educators); monitoring and control of the process of adaptation of dual education implementation.
