Essay

The study of the works of Lviv poets of the period 1960–1970 is important in the context of historical and literary understanding of their role and place in Ukrainian literary process. At that time, the atmosphere of constant ideological pressure and the impossibility of realizing artistic freedom gave rise to literature in the stream of the "socialist-realist method", on the one hand, and bright, mostly underground works contrary to the imposed norms of Soviet propaganda. Naturally, the works of those who did not comply with political and ideological requirements were mostly taboo at that time. The life and work of I. Kalynets, R. Kudlyk and H. Chubay are one of the most notable manifestations of both cultural and ideological protests in the western region of Ukraine. The dissertation highlights the features of the poetic heritage of these three authors, outlines the common and distinctive features in the works and the feeling of peace. The proposed study is an attempt to reveal the polyphony of their poetic works written between the 1960s and 1970s. Therefore, these texts are considered through the prism of artistic and aesthetic similarities and differences that form a kind of poetic polyphony.
