The dissertation is devoted to a comprehensive study of theoretical and practical problems of the implementation of social responsibility of agrarian business entities in the system of managing their competitiveness. The evolution of the typology of views on the formation of social responsibility of business as an economic category has been substantiated. The essence, forms of manifestation, system of objects and subjects of social responsibility of agrarian business subjects are revealed. The peculiarities of the formation and direction of social investments are identified as the main conditions for the implementation of social projects in the agrarian sphere. The methodological toolkit for assessing the effectiveness of social investments of agrarian business entities has been improved. The transformations of the structure of socio-economic relations of agrarian business subjects were evaluated. The areas of functional management of social responsibility in the context of increasing their competitiveness have been developed. The mechanism of activation of social responsibility of agrarian business subjects is substantiated. The regularities of the dependence of the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises and other subjects of agrarian business on the intensity of their social responsibility have been determined. Considerable attention is paid in the dissertation to the analysis of the features of the formation of social investments, their effectiveness and impact on increasing the level of competitiveness of agricultural production entities. An economic assessment of the potential for increasing the competitiveness of agribusiness subjects based on the implementation of their social responsibility was carried out. The strategic prospects and priority directions of the development of social responsibility of business in Ukraine, taking into account international experience, have been determined. The conceptual principles of building an organizational and economic management mechanism for the implementation of social responsibility of agrarian business entities based on the formalization of the influence of the state and dynamics of social components of their economic potential, their competitiveness, the economic efficiency of the main activity and the stability of economic development are substantiated. A methodical approach to the transformation of the structure of socio-economic relations of micro-level subjects is proposed as a key dominant factor in the formation of the development strategy of agrarian business subjects in the context of the influence of active processes of using the tools of social responsibility, which provides socio-economic protection of the components of their competitive potential. The theoretical foundations of the implementation of social responsibility by agrarian business entities are substantiated based on the systematization of theoretical principles and comprehensive consideration of the action of market and regulatory mechanisms with a view to increasing the competitiveness of agrarian business entities and their products with the further formation of a proactive model of the implementation of socially responsible industrial and commercial activities. A system of principles for the formation of an organizational and economic mechanism for the activation of social responsibility of agrarian business subjects was determined by supplementing them with the following principles: polystructurality, which reveals the dualistic content of the economic nature and multilevel mechanism of social responsibility of agribusiness subjects, complementarity, which provides for the strategic coherence of the constituent elements of the mechanism and economic horizons of development, identity, which eliminates contradictions in taking into account the influence of various factors on the competitiveness of the subject of agrarian business, as well as institutional certainty, which determines the composition and forms of instruments of influence of the procedures for the implementation of social responsibility on the competitiveness of the subject. The scientific interpretation of the concept of "social investment of agribusiness subjects" has been developed by formalizing the essential and substantive characteristics of the indicated complex socio-economic phenomenon and its consideration through the prism of its application as a tool for increasing the competitiveness and economic efficiency of the activities of the indicated subjects in the context of achieving the effects of growth of their economic potential, extending the life cycle and strengthening market positions.
