Topchiy O. RURAL INTELLIGENCE OF CHERNIGIV REGION: SOCIO-CULTURAL PARADIGM OF ACTIVITY IN THE 1920S - EARLY 1930S.

The dissertation analyzed a wide range of sources, based on the analysis of historiography, the source base, taking into account the existing theoretical scientific developments, the problems of the socio-cultural paradigm of the activity of the rural intelligentsia of Chernihiv Region in the 1920s - at the beginning of 1930s, namely: a comprehensive study of the life, professional and public activities of the rural intelligentsia of Chernihiv region was conducted. The role and place of the rural intelligentsia in the processes of socio-economic and cultural development of the village in the region during the specified period is highlighted. The study attempts to solve problems that are conceptually significant and are related to the understanding of the contradictions of the studied period in the so-called "local dimension". The planes of the real life of the rural intelligentsia of the studied region in the conditions of the violent attack of the state have been determined. The dissertationr analyzes the policy of the Soviet authorities regarding the intelligentsia of the Ukrainian countryside. It is proved that in order to implement revolutionary transformations in practice and build a new economic model, the Bolsheviks actively involved the rural intelligentsia into cooperation, which was to become the leader of their ideological teaching and direct practical executor. With the end of the civil war, the Bolsheviks began to use maneuvering tactics, moving from fighting the intelligentsia to cooperating with it. It was determined that the Soviet government sought to create a socially "pure", unconditionally obedient, "Soviet" intelligentsia. Emphasis was placed, first of all, on the rural intelligentsia, because the majority of the population of Ukraine lived in rural areas.
