Essay

Mean densities of A- and DR- currents of DRG neurons increased while mean density of K-current decreased during first five days of postnatal development and did not change thereafter. Further investigation showed that in TTX-containing solution changes in potassium conductance of a single presynaptic terminal of cultured hippocampal neurons due to action of potassium channel blockers TEA or 4-AP lead to the increasing of the mean quantal content of transmitter release and did not change the value of a single quantum.
