Plant of a research: norms of a moral, corporate norms, customs, legislation on problems of development of physical culture of the Ukrainian people from age of Kyiv age Rus to the beginning of the ХХ century. The purpose of a research: disclosure, social-normative, first of all, legal bases of regulating of physical culture, in aspect of preservation and development of traditions of a healthy mode of life in a Ukrainian society from old times prior to the beginning of the ХХ centuries. Methods of a research: historical-genetic, historical-system,historical-comparative. Theoretical and practical outcomes, novelty, degree of introduction, orb of use: the materials of a thesis can be used at reading of high school courses on physical culture, history of the state and right of Ukraine in whole, at writing of text-books, manuals on the given theme. Basic of a position and the conclusions of work can be used at the definition of flowing policy in the field of physical culture and sport, preservation of tradi tions of a healthy mode of life, at a construction of the long-term programs of development of physical culture and creation for this favorable legal space. Also can be useful at realization of practical occupations on physical culture to be used at education of young generation of the citizens of Ukraine on the best traditions of the people. The scientific novelty is, that this first complex study of social-normative aspect of a history of physical culture in Ukraine from age of Kyiv age Rus to the beginning of the ХХ centuries. By the author of work is systematized and the significant amount of radiants, including archival character, and also integrate of reaching of preceding researches is analysed
