Sukhomlyn S. A new method for increasing the effectiveness of the treatment of nephroptosis

The thesis is devoted to the problems of increasing the effectiveness of the treatment of nephroptosis on the basis of an exact determination of the indices for a surgical intervention and the use of a new method of nephropexy. This paper deals with the research work that has been performed on the clinical course of nephroptosis and the analysis of the results of surgical treatment of the patients with the help of a new method of fixation of the kidneys. It demonstrates that complications of the sickness and the pain syndrome develop proportionally to the degree of nephroptosis and to the duration of the sickness. A nephropexy performed in time leads to an improvement of the functional state of the kidney and prevents the development of complications of the sickness. The necessity for an early surgical treatment is substantiated and new indices for surgical treatment are formulated. A new method of fixation of the kidneys by attaching them to the tendinous cruses of the diaphragm has been worked out. I t greatly increases the effectiveness of surgical treatment and the level of social rehabilitation of the patients suffering from nephroptosis. Good distant results have been obtained for 88,4 % of the patients. Vocational rehabilitation reached a level of 95,2 %.
