New biologically active substances - 3-alkyl-4-hydroxy-2-oxoquinolines and their 4-O-acylderivatives; 3-bromosubstituted-2,4-dioxoquinolines; 5-R(-1,3,4-thidiazolyl-2-amides 1-R-4-hydroxy-2-oxoquinolines of 3-carboxylic acids - have been studied in the range of 3-substituted hydroxy(oxo)quinolines. The synthetic preparative methods for 3-alkyl-4-hydroxy-2-oxoquinolines and 1-R-3-brom-4-hydroxy-2-oxoquinolines have been developed. For the first time the possibility of the Dickman condensation realization was shown under thermolysis conditions. Unlike the classic conditions it is carried out in the absence of the basic catalysts. So the possible mechanism of this transformation has been suggested. UV-, IR-, PMR-spectra characteristics of the compounds synthesized have been studied.
