Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of species of the 8 genus Thymus L. The way of the raw material species definition was suggested on the bases of leaves and calyxes morphology. By the method of chromato-mass-spectrometry in the essential oils from 37 up to 81 components were identified, which are mainly represented by terpenes and their spirits, by sesquiterpenes and their spirits. With such composition for the definition of the structure it is necessary to use unpolar columns, as the use of the standard polar column "Carbovax-20" proved inffective. A wide spectrum of antimicrobe and fungistatic action of Thymus essential oil was established.
