The subject of the paper is Olha Kobylianska's works, diaries, and autobiographies. The specific focus of this research is to provide a complex analysis both of universal literary motifs and characters taken from Kobylianska's works, and plots of mythological and literary origin contained in her writings. The approach entails utilization of typological, historical, aesthetical and functional methods. Theoretical methodology is advanced by the theory application of transformation theory to the analysis of Kobylianska's works. The findings include the usage of Kobylianska's characters and motifs which are derived from the Bible and classical literature; and the ways of synthesis of both national and universal values in creating neofolklore myth are substantiated in creating time in Ukrainian literary studies. The practical applications of the results include: usage of the material in courses taken by Ukrainian Literature majors; special topics courses, seminars in the history of Ukrainian writings ; and writing diploma and other papers in the history of Ukrainian literature, and comparative literary studies; and also serving as the basis for further research on Kobylianska.
