Essay

The dissertation investigates the role of the electoral system of Ukraine on the formation of active democracy, the factors of formation and trends of its evolution. Experience of elections to the Supreme Rada of Ukraine in the period between 1990 and 1998 is studied.The thesis proves the necessity of raising the role of parliamentary elections in the process of forming the institute of political responsibility. The basic after-effects of the election process, which determine further prospects of electoral relations, are brought to light.
