Matushek O. Symbolism of the Teotokos in metatext of Baroque literature

The object of study: both literary works of Ukrainian Baroque writers and non-verbal texts - icons, engravings, emblems etc. The aim of study: to investigate the semiosis of Baroque Ukrainian literature, typical peculiarities of culture of the XVII - XVIII centuries trough the signs of the Teotokos. Method: structural-semiotics. Theoretical and practical results, newness: considered, that the peculiarities of functions of symbolic images of the Teotokos were examined on the basis of the following notions of semiotics: semantics, syntactics and pragmatics. This dissertation can be material for a working out new handbooks of the history of Ukrainian literature for higher educational institutions.
