Noun system in "Synopsis" on the background of the Ukrainian literary language of the XVIIth century. The aim of study: to analise the noun system in "Synopsis" in the context of the Ukrainian literary language of the XVIIth century and to define the character of the language of chronicle on its basis. Methods: comparative, descriptive, distributive, componentive, contextological, statistical. The noun derivatical and grammatical system in "Synopsis" are analized in details for the first time. In dissertation both archaic and new forms of noun in chronicle are revealed. It is determined that the noun system in chronicle is a phase of transition from noun system of the Old Ukrainian epoch to noun system of the modern Ukrainian literary language and the language of "Synopsis" is literary church Slavonic language in Slavo-Ukrainian variant. On the one hand, the noun system in "Synopsis" keeps many archaic forms and many old inflexions, but on the other hand, it includes different new forms, which are typ ical for the modern Ukrainian literary language. The sphere of application: the history of the Ukrainian literary language and the historical grammar of the Ukrainian language.
