3.Object of investigation: LiB3O5, b-BaB2O4, Li2B4O7 single crystals. Aim of investigation: Interpretation of phonon spectra. Investigation of the role of phonon subsystem in nonlinear optical response formation in crystals. Methods: IR-spectroscopy, Raman scattering spectroscopy. Results: Structure of phonon spectra were identificatied. Chemical bonds types were estimated. The contribution of the electron and phonon components were determined. The approach to vibrational frequencies calculation of complex borate crystals were developed based on the cluster model. Inculcation: The results are used at the Ivan Franko L'viv State University for the spectroscopic investigations of new nonlinear optical materials. Application: Nonlinear optics.
