Shabetya O. Initial material for creating heterotic hybrids of eggplant.

Object: eggplant The aim: studing and selection of initial material for heterosis breeding on its base ultra-early ripening, high productive heterosis hybrids of eggplant. Methods: hybridization; morpho-biologial, biochemical, statistic analis. Results: the genepool of eggplant has been studied on a complex of morphological, phenological and other economic-valuable traits. The source of valuable traits being of breeding significance are selected. Estimation of principal economic-important signs variability is carried out; correlation interrelationships between morphological signs and traits having economic significance are revealed. Displaying of parental traits in F1 hybrids of eggplants is researched. Initial material for heterosis breeding is selected. Parental lines with high general combining ability and specific combining ability are created. Ultra-early-ripe, high productive heterotic hybrids are created. Fild of using: selection research institutions, farmer and collective farms.
