Essay

Subject of research: cementite in Fe-C alloys. The aim of research: increase of technological and operating properties of the Fe-C alloys. The research methods: metallography, X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, microhardness determination. Equipment: microscope MI-8, PMT-3, DRON-2, SMC-2, DRS-2M, Cardamon. Theoretical results and novelty: the increase of cementite hardness is observed, it is found to be an additional resource of increasing alloy hardness, the critical stabilizing content of alloying elements in eutectic is determined. Practical results and novelty: the method of cementite layer formation on steel and cast iron is proposed. Degree of introduction: the material are tested and bringed into "Bratslav" Ltd. A branch of application: material science in machine building.
