Dissertation theme elucidates the problems of diagnosis and effective pharmaceutical and surgical treatment of autoimmune thyroiditis (AT). An investigation of the little known aspects of the pathogenesis of AT- immunological, hormonal, metabolic and mediator processes, and their relationships, was concluded. It was included a mandatory multi-component pharmacological therapy. The treatment, which is a mildly invasive, focal approach, helped to identify specific portions necessitating surgical intervention.
