Object: patients with postoperative ventral hernias.Target: to elaborate the methods of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of postoperative ven-tral hernias. Methods: macroscopic, the blood vessels injection, the N.Pirogov's saw cuts, the study of intestinal mobility, theabdominal organs volume, firmness of varions laparotomy wound suturing methods and clinical study (tensile force of hernial defect edges when connecting them, USI, ACT). Innovation: the peculiarities of abdominal wall topographo-anatomical structure (the medial fascial node, the "ubrella"mechanism) have been specified, diagnostic-preventive algorithm, as well as differential and stepped therapy tactics for patients with postoperative hernias have been elaborated.
